AmberGermandic Art

Self-taught digital artist.
Three years. Over 200 pieces.
All of it, the journey.

With the exception of a few art classes decades ago, everything you see here was taught by instinct, feeling, and the willingness to fail forward. I don't come to the canvas with a plan. I come with whatever is alive in me that day.

While I always considered myself creative, I rarely had the patience to actually train. During a particularly harsh burn-out, art become my translator. Often, I start by selecting colors and brushes that feels right in the moment. Random shapes turn into faces, figures, and everything in between - each piece revealing itself stroke by stroke. Once complete, the new painting would often communicate an internal landscape that I did not have the language for at the time. As a viewer, I invite you to interpret each piece in your own internal language - taking from it what you need in that moment.

Art is incredibly therapeutic with a low barrier to entry. It's completely changed how I process emotions, and how I identify myself as a person.

Hi, I'm Amber, and I'm an artist.
